Perhatikan Contoh Kalimat yang mengandung kata keterangan berikut ini :

Pada pola kalimat di atas terdapat kata keterangan yaitu, "dengan" dan "supaya".  Kata dengan pada kalimat nomor 1 yaitu keterangan alat, yaitu alat yang dipakai untuk memukul. Sedangkan kata supaya pada kalimat nomor 2 yaitu kata keterangan tujuan.

JENIS-JENIS ADVERBIA (KATA KETERANGAN)

Kata keterangan atau adverbia dibagi menjadi beberapa jenis, yaitu :

    Keterangan daerah yaitu jenis kata yang memperlihatkan isu mengenai suatu lokasi.

    Keterangan waktu yaitu jenis keterangan yng menginformasikan berlangsungnya sesuatu dalam       waktu tertentu,
    Contoh :
    - Saya mau kerumahmu sekarang
    - Lusa nanti saya akan berkunjung ke rumah nenek
    - Dini akan membeli baju besok pagi

3. Kata Keterangan Alat
    Keterangan alat yaitu jenis keterangan yang menjelaskan dengan menggunakan alat apa seseorang           melaksanakan sesuatu.
    Contoh :
    - Badrun memukul anjing dengan tongkat
    - Bapak pergi ke kantor dengan motor
    - Reni membawa daging dengan keranjang

4. Kata Keterangan Syarat
    Keterangan daerah yaitu keterangan memperlihatkan kekerabatan persyaratan.
    Contoh :
    - Aku mau kembali ke Jakarta jikalau kamu mau menikah denganku
    - Seandainya kamu bisa mengerti aku, niscaya saya akan menerimamu
    - Pak guru mau memberi kesempatan kepada Lusi asalkan dia mau berubah

5. Kata Keterangan Sebab
    Keterangan alasannya yaitu adalah jenis keterangan yang memperlihatkan penyebab mengapa sesuatu itu sanggup     terjadi
    Contoh :
    - Pak Dodi murka karena anaknya pergi tanpa pamit
    - Rino tidak diterima di daerah itu lagi, sebab dia pernah melaksanakan kesalahan yang fatal
