Kata Asli dan Kata Serapan dalam Bahasa Indonesia -  Berdasarkan asal kata, dalam bahasa Indonesia kata terbagi menjadi dua,yaitu kata orisinil dan kata serapan. Pada kesempatan ini, web-bahasaindonesia akan membahas perihal kata orisinil dan kata serapan, serta contoh-contohnya. 

1. KATA ASLI

Kata orisinil adalah kata yang berasal dari bahasa kita sendiri.

2. KATA SERAPAN 

Kata serapan adalah, kata yang berasal dari bahasa lain (bisa dari bahasa tempat ataupun bahasa asing). Kata serapan masuk ke dalam bahasa Indonesia melalui banyak sekali cara. Berikut ialah beberapa cara kata absurd masuk ke dalam bahasa Indonesia :

1.  Adopsi
    
Pada cara yang pertama ini, sebuah kata yang berasal dari bahasa lain, diambil secara tepat (keseluruhan), tanpa mengurangi apapun dari kata tersebut 

Contoh :
- Mall, super market, plaza, 

2. Adaptasi

Pada cara ini, sebuah kata diserap ke dalam bahasa Indonesia dengan menyesuaikannya dengan bahasa Indonesia itu sendiri. Hal ini dilakukan dengan mengambil makna kata absurd itu, sedangkan ejaan dan penulisannya diubahsuaikan dengan ejaan bahasa Indonesia

Contoh :

- Kata "Pluralization" diserap ke dalam bahasa Indonesia menjadi "pluralisasi"
- Kata "Acceptability" diserap ke dalam bahasa Indonesia menjadi "akseptabilitas"

3. Penerjemahan

Proses absorpsi dengan cara penerjemahan, yaitu denga cara mengambil konsep yang terkandung dalam bahasa absurd itu, kemudian kata tersebut dicari padanannya dalam Bahasa Indonesia

Contoh :

- Kata "Overlap" yang berasal dari bahasa inggris, kita ambil kesamaan konsepnya, sehingga muncul kata "tumpang tindih", yang lazim dipakai dalam bahasa Indonesia.

- Kata "Try out"  dalam bahasa Indonesia kita kenal dengan "uji coba"

4. Kreasi

Cara lain untuk menyerap kata absurd ke dalam bahasa Indonesia dilakukakn dengan cara mengambil konsep dasar yang ada dalam bahasa Indonesia. Cara ini hampir sama dengan penerjemahan, bedanya ialah pada cara kreasi tidak menuntut bentuk fisik yang menyerupai mirip penerjemahan.
Boleh saja kata yang ada dalam bahasa aslinya ditulis dalam 2 atau 3 kata, sedangkan bahasa Indonesianya hanya satu kata saja.

Contoh :
- Kata "berhasil guna" merupakan hasil kreasi dari kata "effective" yang berasal dari bahasa Inggris
- Kata "suku cadang" merupakan hasil kreasi dari kata  "spare parts".
